Improvement of structure prediction and analysis of structure-function relations in proteins.
January 1, 2003 - December 31, 2005
The focus of the project is improving structure prediction and the development of computational methods for analysing structure-function relationships. This encomprises several subtopics:
The enhancement of profile- and potential-based structure prediction methods. The combination of several individual methods into one more powerful methods. The development of better confidence measures for prediction methods.
Identification of structural building blocks in proteins - as a means of improving structure prediction as well as a basis for analyzing function.
Application of the developped prediction methods to concrete biological often medically relevant problems.
The Arby protein structure prediction server.
The STRuster server for the analysis of alternate structural models.
