Special Session "Mathematical Analysis of Bio-Inspired Computation"
Special Session "Mathematical Analysis of Bio-Inspired Computation" at theIEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC) 2008 (to be held as part of WCCI 2008)
June 1-6, 2007, Hong Kong
Aims and Scope
Bio-inspired computation methods such as evolutionary algorithms or ant colony optimization have been shown to be very successful when dealing with problems from combinatorial optimization and in real-world applications. The theoretical understanding of these, in practice successful, algorithms is an important topic and has gained increasing interest in recent years. The aim of this special session is to bring together people working on the mathematical analysis of bio-inspired computation methods.
We invite the submission of papers using mathematical methods to analyze all kinds of bio-inspired algorithms.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) population dynamics, approaches from statistical mechanics, runtime analysis, fitness landscapes and problem difficulty, and self-adaptation.
