Starting semester 2003 the following rules hold for the subscription of all courses (bachelor and master):

In the first four weeks it is possible to subscribe and unsubscribe for courses freely. Afterwards the subscription is binding. Students who have subscribed for a course have to attend the lecture as well as the respective examination. If a student does not attend an obligatory (final) examination of a course he/she has subscribed for, the examination is valued as a failed attempt.

Read § 10,1 of the examination regulations for bachelor and master studies in computer science (Prüfungsordnung für die Bachelor- und Master-Studiengänge Informatik) for further information.
