Guidelines for communicating with me
- Always ask me if you have a question, nothing is worse than bad communication. I will tell you explicitly when I have too much to do at that moment.
- Use e-mail for daily communication, personal contact if it is hard to explain in e-mail - telephone only if it is urgent. More communication is better - CC: me if you feel a mail might be interesting for me to "listen to" - I can manage and filter my e-mails, so don't worry about spamming me.
- Be honest if you make errors or feel you don't understand something, and give realistic time expectations, that leads to the least stressful and thus most effective workload for you.
- Since I let you choose your workload, I expect you to keep your promises. If the given time expectation doesn't hold, tell me as early as possible, even if you're not sure (think in probabilities), I won't bite your head off.
- I trust in you giving your best at all times, so please don't exploit my trust. If you feel that a given task is not what you want, you have personal problems or too much to do, tell me so before you start getting frustrated and we can work it out.
- If you have your own ideas, mention them and we might find a good compromise.
