We would like to establish a long-term network for women and non-binary researchers at the MPI for Informatics – and we are looking for committed colleagues who would like to help shape it.

Our idea is to create a community that supports people in computer science throughout all stages of their careers: from young people interested in computer science, to students and researchers, to experienced scientists. The network should provide opportunities for mentoring, mutual support, knowledge sharing, and giving back to the next generation.

The network will be built around four pillars:

Grow - Grow through mentoring, exchange, and new experiences.

Learn - Learn from others and develop together with the community.

Open Doors - Open doors for yourself and for the next generation of researchers.

Welcome - Welcome new members and help create a network where everyone can find their place.

We are still at the very beginning of this initiative and would like to work together with interested colleagues to collect ideas, develop structures, and explore what such a network could look like at MPI and beyond.

You do not need to bring fully developed ideas. We are looking for colleagues who are interested in:

  • developing ideas and concepts
  • helping to design mentoring opportunities
  • organizing events
  • connecting people and building networks
  • identifying funding opportunities
  • creating a sustainable and supportive community

If you would like to get involved – whether through ideas, experience, or simply curiosity – we would be delighted to hear from you.
