The Central Representative Body for Severely Disabled Employees mainly supports people with severe disabilities, people with an officially recognized lower disability level who are treated the same as severely disabled, and people at risk of becoming disabled in the Max Planck Society (MPG). They give advice and practical help. Of course, questions from all employees are also welcome.
The Max Planck Society currently has 84 institutes across Germany and some additional institutes outside of Germany. In about 40 of these institutes, there is an elected representative for severely disabled employees. This representative takes care of the interests of severely disabled and equal-status employees in matters that concern the MPG and its institutes, but that cannot be solved by the local representatives at each institute.
The Central Representative Body for Severely Disabled Employees and the Central Works Council have made an inclusion agreement together with the employer. This agreement supports the professional inclusion of severely disabled and equal-status employees in the MPG institutes. For this, the employer, the representative body, and the works council agree on common goals. The agreement makes cooperation easier and gives positive support for HR staff, for the local representatives of disabled employees, and for the works councils.
The full framework inclusion agreement can be found in the MPG intranet.

In addition to the Equal Opportunities Office, students with disabilities or chronic illnesses can also contact the Contact Office for Studies and Disabilities at Saarland University. There, students receive support, teachers receive advice and all help with all questions concerning studying with disabilities and chronic illnesses. In concrete terms, help is also offered with the application for disadvantage compensation at the relevant examination office. Since January 2021, the Contact Office for Studies and Disability has been part of the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Management Office.
