Personal Information

I am a Postdoc researcher at the MPI. I am mainly interested in security and measurements. In the last four years, I have also worked on applying machine learning to computer security and on data representation for ML models.

In my PhD, I was working with Carlos A. Maziero on a strategy for anomaly detection in the WebAssembly sandbox. My research uses categorical data for machine learning models for intrusion detection. Since my second year, I have worked with master's and undergrad students in the use of categorical representation and machine learning in different security topics.

During my master's, I worked with Rafael R. Obelheiro on a honeypot infrastructure for collecting data about DRDoS attacks. In this research, we focused on the measurement and evaluation of attack behavior. The research continues, and we are currently investigating the use of ML models to automatically identify attacks in traffic observed by honeypots and other intermediate vantage points.
