Lise Meitner Award Winners 2018

Every second year the Max Planck Institute for Informatics awards the Lise Meitner Award Fellowship. This postdoctoral grant supports excellent female computer scientists in their careers, giving them the opportunity to develop their scientific ideas without exertion of influence. It consists of a two-year tax-free research fellowship and business expenses.

For the strech of the next two years, four young female researchers in computer science are given the opportunity to pursue their research with financial help from our institute.

Eunjin Oh was a PhD student in the Computer Science Department at Pohang University of Science and Technology. In March 2018 she joined the Algorithms and Complexity Group of Kurt Mehlhorn. Qiuhong Ke worked as a PhD student at The University of Western Australia. She finished her PhD in April 2018. Her Masters Degree origins from Bejing Forestry University in 2014. In May she joined the Computer Vision Group of Bernt Schiele with her topic "Activity Recognition and Prediction".
Sophie Tourret completed her PhD at the Grenoble Informatics Laboratory (France) in March 2016 before working as a postdoc in the National Institute of Informatics (Japan) for a year and a half. She joined the Automation of Logic research group in October 2017, where she works on several topics described on her MPI-INF webpage t.b.n.
